When NASUM officially began in 1992, most underground enthusiasts felt that death metal and grindcore had already run its creative course. Over the next dozen years, however, these Swedes fought to keep their deeply personal and fiercely political grindcore moving forward, never surrendering to ephemeral scene trends. In truth, no second-generation band more clearly embodied grindcore's original aesthetic more than NASUM. Tragically, co-founder Mieszko Talarczyk passed away in the Tsunami disaster of 2004. This stunning, two CD tour de force is a documentation of the life of NASUM, a collection of every single piece of non-album material in the band's storied repertoire.
Sweden's SAYYADINA unleash their patented brand of grindcore on 'The Great Northern Revisited'; a collection of split 7', comp. tracks, as well as four previously unreleased songs. Nasum
All I love with Napalm Death anno 1986-1989, especially the punk energy, is summerized in "Take aim". Wormrot of course stands on its own. Amazing. whaleheart
never been a big death metal fan but this is actually super accessible for the genre, has fun concepts, and personally i'm always a fan of albums with short tracklists and huge runtimes (for individual songs) Great time, good jumping on point for newbies too. alienasu
